Celebrating birthdays are important as they reflect our beginning and how far we've come. However, there are many underprivileged children who are unable to afford a cake for their birthday, which is the most important part. ThankGoodnessForCakes is a solution for them. ThankGoodnessForCakes is a non-profit organization that delivers birthday cakes to underprivileged children in Connecticut.
Carter Brown, a 17-year-old from Stamford, Connecticut, created ThankGoodnessForCakes. In Carter's family, as well as many American families, birthdays are a big event to celebrate. However, not everyone can afford a good cake to celebrate the event. He wanted to solve this problem. In order to do this, Carter created this organization in hopes of putting a smile on children's faces even if they are going through a tough time. "Even kids can help other kids and make the world a better place!" Carter said.
The organization has successfully operated for a full year and was able to deliver over 50 cakes to underprivileged children. They currently serve Fairfield County and Westchester in Connecticut. Customers can order through their website or calling their phone number, then the organization creates the cake and delivers it to the family. They have attended numerous gala events and even received donations and help from local bakeries. ThankGoodnessForCakes partnered with YMCA and Domus, organizations that support the youth population. To make their organization more efficient, they have reached out to Stew Lenard's, a grocery store, to get the supplies to make the cakes easier.
ThankGoodnessForCakes plan on growing their organization more by reaching other locations and gaining a larger audience. They want to reach out to as many families that are in need!
