Don't Fear, the District Helpers are Near!

Build the Future Blog readers, I finally get to present to you my business plan I created last year for the

NFTE Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge! This challenge is an eight-month-long series of business plan and pitch competitions, where we create a business and project its success in its first year of launching, including financial profit, marketing plan, and more. I worked on this business with my partner, Jade Nguyen. After much effort, we won third place for the DC Metropolitan region and received a cash prize of $500.

Many parents and/or guardians are busy and unable to take care of their dependents. From research, we noticed 58% of parents request a babysitter at least once a month, and 84% of parents spend at least $2,000 a year on babysitters.

We thought of District Helpers. It is a service business, where we provide parents an easy way to hire a service provider at a reasonable rate. Unlike our competitors, we do not charge a monthly fee. Instead, we charge a low rate of $15 an hour.

District Helpers offers a variety of services including babysitting, pet sitting, tutoring, housekeeping, lawn services, and personal assistance. We ensure that each customer is given a personal virtual interview with our service providers. We also ensure that our providers have background checks and are CPR certified.
