Interested in joining the medical field? Destined Doctors attempts to spark interest in medicine to those planning on pursuing it. They hope to bring the quality factual content of all specialties in the medical field.

Jiamin Chen is a 16-year-old from Florida. Coming from an immigrant family, Jiamin has helped a family member attend their doctor appointments by translating for them. She had bad experiences due to the judgmental looks that doctors give her for being a minority. Due to these experiences, she founded Destined Doctors in order to facilitate the dreams of those who have a desire to pursue the field of medicine. Jiamin was even born on National Women Physician Day, February 3rd. She believes that it is destined for her to take on this path and serve my community. "The lack of compassion, patience, and care of some health professionals heavily convinced me that it is my duty to do better," Jiamin said.

Destined Doctors is a digital focused youth organization started to further the interests of the youth demographic to join the medical field. Their organization is run by researchers and editors who compose articles related to insights in medicine, clinical findings, advances in technology, pathways to certain specialties, and advice to those pursuing pre-med/ medical school. Destined Doctors even have graphic designers who create mesmerizing graphic content to go along with the blog.
Destined Doctors have also connected with several doctors to create an interactive Q&A live session on Instagram to promote knowledge in these specific branches of medicine. The organization has a ‘Stellar Scholar’ segment which invites top-tier college students who are in pre-med/medical school to speak on behalf of their experiences and provide any genuine advice on succeeding the white coat journey.
Destined Doctors currently have 49 members from three continents and five countries. Destined Doctors give volunteers the opportunity to submit their own articles on the blog in return for volunteer hours. The organization has reached over 1,200 followers on Instagram in less than two months since launching. Many doctors have shown their support and appreciation to the organization for being able to provide the resources that they wished they had when they were in medical school.
They plan on creating an IGTV series where followers can interact more with their team’s researchers. They also plan on creating a merchandise store which will have stickers, hoodies, shirts, phone cases, and more. Proceeds from the store will go directly to hospitals for PPE during this difficult unprecedented time due to COVID-19. In the future, they hope to become an official non-profit organization. Destined Doctors' goal is to continue expanding in the future and provide the resources that are found helpful by other students.
