Have a Sweet Tooth? Check Out Mia's Treats Delight

Imagine mouth-watering, flavorful baked goods that is warm and gooey. Meet Tamia Coleman-Hawkins, a 13-year-old from St. Louis, Missouri. She founded Mia's Treats Delight. Tamia found her love for baking ever since she was four-years-old. When she reached third grade, she took an economics class at GALACTIC, a gifted education school. She was able to learn how to manage money and even learned how to run a business. In addition, her mom has always been her advocate, pushing her to one day become an entrepreneur.

This inspired her to immediately start her own business of a bakery. Tamia and her mother went to the store and bought all the ingredients needed to buy cupcakes, and quickly got started on making them. The cupcakes became a success and were later sold the same night.

Mia's Treats Delight offer a variety of baked goods with unique flavors. Through her business, Tamia has been a speaker at multiple events, been featured on different news channels, has traveled to different states, and even had the chance to travel out of the country. Tamia has also had the opportunity to give back to her community by being a youth board member of two organizations; one of which gave her $10,000 worth of clothes to give to children in need in her community. It has now been five years since Tamia started her business, and she has received many achievements as a young entrepreneur.

In the future, Tamia hopes to own a commercial kitchen, and eventually a brick-and-mortar business. Her goal is to have her products be sold in stores all across the nation, as well as have the ability to ship internationally to other countries. Tamia eventually wants to host cupcake-decorating classes in which, when every person signs up, they will automatically sponsor a homeless child to participate.
