Shop Trendy Items for Teenage Girls

Stickers and bucket hats-- these are the new trends for teenage girls. Shania Ahmed is only 15-years-old, yet she has already started a very successful business. Located in Pleasanton, California, Shania founded Basic Girl Jewelry on July 18th, 2019.

Shania was inspired by other small businesses on Instagram, so created her own. She initially sold handmade scrunchies, which were sold within a few hours of posting. From her first sale, she was able to learn how to prepare orders and ship them out. Shania expanded her business by making an Etsy account. She transitioned from selling scrunchies to selling stickers, which became a big hit for her business. She even recently started selling apparel, such as bucket hats.

Shania's sticker designs are printed on high-quality vinyl paper using a photo-quality printer and are cut precisely using a Cricut. Some of her designs are even waterproof to further improve customer satisfaction. Her apparel is screen printed and heat pressed using a commercial-grade heat press. This will prevent it from peeling, crafting, or be lifted since it is not an iron-on. Instead, Shania promises high-quality apparel that is handmade and affordable.

Shania's business has reached over 1,000 sales recently, and soon will expand to include more clothing and apparel items. Shania says that it has been a childhood dream of hers to design clothes. Through this company, she would finally be able to accomplish that.

In the future, Shania hopes to expand her business by hiring employees and having an office. She wants to make her business larger before she reaches college so that she could carry less weight while she studies entrepreneurship and business. She wants to one day own her own retail company. As of now, Shania is working on new designs that will be introduced to her shop.
